While the new Justice League movie is bombing with critics and at the box office, there is one woman who could save the day. Her name? Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In a movie we’d frankly much rather see, Jimmy Kimmel introduced Ginsburg into the crime fighting league to remind us that not all heroes wear capes. Some of them wear robes and frilly lace. Actor Keiynan Lonsdale has spoken about his experience since coming out. The 25-year-old Australian actor stars in CW show The Flash. He came out as LGBTI with an Instagram post in May. Originally, he had not planned to come out. Lonsdale said: ‘I never had any plans to come out until I was like in my 80s. Until then I’d just live a nice sad life.’ He attended his first LGBTI event since coming out, GLSEN’s Respect Awards, last Friday (20 October). The CW is planning a four-part crossover series of its Arrow-verse this fall, airing on November 27 and 28, and they’ve tapped out actor Russell Tovey to play gay superhero The Ray. Additionally, Tovey will voice the character on the animated series based on the character which was announced in July. Queer superheroes like Batwoman are earning DC Entertainment, one of the largest comic book and superhero entities, a prestigious award. GLSEN, the national organization championing LGBTI students and issues in K-12, is giving its Visionary Award to DC. The award will be presented at the GLSEN Respect Awards on 20 October at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The award ceremony began in 2004 and honors individuals and corporations who have made a significant impact on youth in the community. “Wonder Woman” fans want the upcoming sequel to honor canon and make the Amazonian warrior princess bisexual. Writer Greg Rucka confirmed that the Amazons of Themyscira engage in same-sex relationships in the comics. Gianna Collier-Pitts, GLAAD Campus Ambassador at New York University, penned the petition asking for that bisexual representation to be included in the films. “We are oversexualized and underrepresented. “Wonder Woman 2” might have Princess Diana battling the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Screen Rant reports that the sequel will be set in the United States in the 1980s. Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment President and screenwriter, and director Patty Jenkins are currently penning the script.
