Step aside, Chris Evans — Billy Eichner is our new Captain America. Taking Twitter by storm, user @homeisarealsong dubbed over a scene from Captain America: Civil War with audio from Eichner’s comedy show Billy on the Street. In the scene, Cap is running with some of his fellow superheroes on their way to battle other superheroes (like Iron Man and Spider-Man). Two Queer Characters Will Appear in Future Marvel Films
President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, said future films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will introduce two LGBTQ characters. While speaking with Gregory Ellwood from The Playlist, Feige addressed the glaring blemish on the ever-expanding franchise. Ellwood point-blank asked Feige: ‘When are we getting a Gay, Bi, LGBTQ, out character in the MCU? Is it even in the works?’ Feige had an equally direct response and that was simply ‘yes’. Iceman Comic Revived for a New Run
Marvel has revived gay solo superhero series Iceman for a new run. The series will be written by gay creator Sina Grace, who helmed Bobby Drake’s last solo arc. He will be joined by artist Nathan Stockman, a new addition to the series. Marvel Comics canceled the last solo series for Iceman, which ran for 2017-2018, blaming low sales. FILM: Deadpool 2 Features a Lesbian Superhero Couple
Deadpool 2 is finally here – and reports of a same-sex romance in the film were true. The film, released on Tuesday, brings back Ryan Reynolds as everyone’s favourite dirty-talking, R-rated superhero. Brianna Hildebrand makes a comeback as moody teenage mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead, but this time she’s very much not alone. Pansexual superhero and all-round badass Deadpool is mad about Eurovision. In a typically topical and humorous new promo for Deadpool 2 – which comes out on May 16 – Ryan Reynolds’ charming character takes on a new foe: Canada’s inability to enter the best singing contest on earth. A total of 43 countries have entered Eurovision this year – and before you say Canada isn’t European enough to take part, Deadpool and other fans of the annual competition will tell you that Australia, Azerbaijan and Israel fit in just fine. The new promo clip for Deadpool 2 is an epic combination of Ryan Reynolds in heels, Celine Dion, modern dance and a philharmonic orchestra. Because Deadpool doesn’t do things by halves. Reynolds shared a new promo clip for the upcoming movie on his Twitter account and it features famous warbler Dion. The singer commands the stage – as usual – in a white gown while Marvel’s favourite anti-hero prances around her, gracing the planks with sleek and sexy moves – all while sporting stilettos. COMICS: Who Should Be the First Queer Avenger On the Big Screen?
As Avengers: Infinity War comes out to the public this week, with its dozens of superheroes, the lack of LGBT representation will be painfully clear. After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) contains precisely zero queer superheroes. In fact, whenever the company has the chance to incorporate one of its many, many LGBT characters into a global blockbuster, it balks at the opportunity. Identity of Deadpool 2’s Bisexual, Polyamorous Superhero Revealed
The identity of Deadpool 2’s bisexual, polyamorous superhero has been revealed. Last month, we found out that Shatterstar, who has appeared in Marvel comics since 1991, will star alongside Ryan Reynolds’ pansexual Deadpool in the sequel to the 2016 smash hit. His kiss in 2009 with gay superhero Rictor was the first same-sex kiss in a mainstream Marvel comic.
