The Seven Dwarves as Muscle Daddies

Dopey

The answer to the question you never thought you’d ask has been answered: what would Snow White’s Seven Dwarfs look like as muscle daddies? Artist and graphic designer Silverjow has reimagined the beloved characters as you’ve never seen them before. The artist said his aim was to make a picture book of his illustrations. Silverjow set up a Patreon so he would have more freedom to make the art he wanted. ‘I used to take commissions but it was too much restrictions for me (sic),’ he wrote. TV: Black Episode “San Junipero” Wins Two Emmys

San-Junipero

Black Mirror episode San Junipero, a beautiful lesbian love story, has won two Emmy Awards. The 60-minute episode of Charlie Brooker’s dystopian anthology series, which airs on Netflix, featured two women living in a digital afterlife. San Junipero broke with Black Mirror’s usually-bleak depiction of technology and the future, with a notably upbeat and heartwarming love story between two women. The acclaimed episode, which was near-universally acclaimed, picked up an Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie. By Nick Duffy – Full Story at Pink News

Out of the Past – LGBTQ Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror in the 1980s

The Northern Girl

The 1970s, famed as an era of free love, political protests and hallucinogen-fueled utopias, gave way to the era of punk and New Wave, AIDS, and the politics of Reagan and Thatcher in the more conservative 1980s. And science fiction, fantasy and horror followed suit, with hard-edged military science fiction, dystopian visions, anti-hero sword and sorcery, vampires and of course, cyberpunk. None of these, on the face of it, seemed any more LGBT-friendly than the sfnal works of the previous decade, yet the number of portrayals of LGBT characters over the course of the decade more than quadrupled. This was … Read more

U=(N/T)M*G: Occluded

As if the tales and exploits of Vikings weren’t enough to prove their badass nature, I’ve got something that will prove it for all time: sólarsteinn and it’s companion sun board. In the history of the ancient world, those civilizations capable of seafaring were considered the top of pyramid. The oceans, seas and great rivers presented a lot of a society’s resources and wealth, and the ability to harvest that wealth was paramount to a success society. Of course, some were more daring than others when it came to the oceans. Vikings, of course, got crazy with it. There’s even … Read more

Super Mario With Nipples

Twitter is traumatized. Nobody can unsee Super Mario’s nipples. Nintendo America tweeted pictures of Mario ahead of the release of Super Mario Odyssey. And the world was shocked by the picture of Mario frolicking around shirtless. In the process, they also confirmed he had nipples. Which nobody seems to be okay with. Renewal Gets a Fantastic Review

Renewal Review - Rainbow Book Reviews

Just got a fantastic review for “Renewal” from Rainbow Book Reviews: The first thing I’d like to say is that with the breadth of topics and themes covered, everyone interested in any of the four genres should be able to find something of interest in this collection. It is divided into groups of stories per genre, so it’s easy to find the type of tale you’re looking for – and to at least sneak a look at one or more of the sections you might not usually look at. Horror is not something I enjoy reading, but I found quite … Read more
