  1. Personally, it has to have a strong story line, lots of shifting/vampire/magical times, smexy times and they should have to overcome something. I recently read a book that really had no real story line. It really left me wanting. I’d say 99% of the time I’ve read a paranormal book it’s been good.

  2. Powers! I want my characters to have powers. Super strength or flying or extra sharp senses. Anything as long as its fantastic.

    • This is why Buffy the Vampire Slayer worked. The longer the show went on, the more characters had powers. This why Tru Calling and Joan of Arcadia fell dead. Too many characters who were relentlessly ordinary.
