FOR READERS
Today’s reader topic comes from QSFer Denise Dechene:
Everyone has their favorite authors, books and tropes. What makes you pick up a book by a new author or try a new trope? Is it reviews, the cover, the blurb or word of mouth?
Writers: This is a reader chat – you are welcome to join it, but please do not reference your own works directly. Thanks!

I read about 15 ARC’s a month. When I receive an opportunity for a new-to-me author, I first read the blurb, then the genre and finally I research the reviews the author has received on previously published works.
Based on all of those things, I decide whether or not to read it!
(P.S. I always review the books on Goodreads. Also Bookbub and Amazon if they’re ‘up.’)
