  1. No question about it – EPUB. It’s well-featured, open format, widely supported, not locked into any ecosystem/vendor, DRM-free and yours to read, back up and retrieve forever. You can easily loan it out and never lose it, plus easy to shelve and store. I only support ereaders and vendors that support this format.

    I prefer ‘real’ books but my house is too full of them for any more, it’s digital all the way for me now. And I can keep my entire library in cloud storage, or backed up to disc, safe from harm.
