“I can go no further. Please, assist me so we may arrive at our destination before that scurrying fiend has me eaten alive.”
The bespectacled orc furrowed his brow and muttered,
“All you had to do was not get drunk the night before we left. How has the goblin kingdom lasted this long under your rulership?”
Pained by his remark, but eager to gain his favor, I conceded,
“I’m more of a figurehead. My primary purpose is to pose for postcards and attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies.”
Blarg smirked and bent over, remarking,
“I suspected as much. Hop on, let’s get this over with.”
I climbed upon his back, wrapping my legs around his broad frame as I leaned forward to grab him about his thick green neck.
Blarg stood upright and began striding forward. Ahead of us, the Rat King danced along the forest path, gaily singing an old show tune about a cheese smith, his skittering army trailing behind, providing a chorus of backup squeaks.
As we went along, I started to appreciate Blarg’s strong physique. I’d always been acutely aware he was well built, but now that I was pressed so close to him, I could fully appreciate the feel of his powerful, ox-like muscles propelling us toward our goal.
I began burying my face into the back of his neck, taken in by his clean, yet unmistakably male musk.
Cheeks flushed, I rested my head against his warm, brawny shoulders, wondering why I’d never noticed he was-
My member responded abruptly, stiffening even harder than it had the previous evening.
Blarg slowed his pace until he stopped entirely and growled,
“Badinel, is that what I think it is?”
I muttered,
“‘Tis my dagger, I swear.”
He snarled,
“Nonsense! You wear your dagger buckled in the back!”
He angrily grabbed me by the ankle, flinging me off into a nearby patch of brambles.
The Rat King ceased his singing and bounded over to investigate. I sat up, attempting to ignore the hundred little prickles accompanying my every move. Blarg, meanwhile, began bellowing,
“We aren’t in one of those orc fetish pornos you’re so fond of! I can respect you as my employer, but-“
I cut him off,
“I don’t look at porn, I find such pictures to be quite gauche!”
Blarg glared at me, countering,
“I’m talking about those short stories you kept buying on the computer when we were in the human world!”
I feigned innocence, ears twitching in response. He narrowed his eyes, adding,
“You used my email to create your buyer account, remember? Every time you downloaded one of your many, many orc stories, I’d receive a notification!”
Rat King popped in between us and asked,
“What seems to be the problem?”
He sniffed the air, grinned, and licked his lips. The monarch focused his gaze on me, giggling joyously,
“This is fortuitous timing! I’m becoming quite parched, and lo and behold, this royal goblin has the smell of sudden-onset engorgement!”
Author Bio
Zwahk Muchoney is an artist-turned-writer from the Pacific Northwest. Her creative journey began as a web cartoonist in 2006, when she wrote and drew a slapstick comic centered around Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Unfortunately, in 2008 she was struck with a mysterious illness that left her completely disabled and bedridden for fourteen years before experiencing a miraculous recovery.
During those many years, she imagined the stories she would write if she ever regained the use of her hands, and began her first novella while in recovery. After publishing Paranormal Jelly Director’s Cut, a horror-comedy short story collection she affectionately refers to as the lost script for an early 1990s show that never premiered, she tried her hand at creating her highly unorthodox Christian fantasy, The Devil Who Went to Heaven: Dark Fables of Angels.
Seeking to expand her repertoire, Zwahk decided to enter the world of queer erotic romance, recently finishing her M/M paranormal angel/demon series with The Gay Goblin King.
