Today’s reader topic comes from QSFer Scott:

There are many reasons not to start a series. It’s a big commitment. The author might not finish it. Heck, the author might die before it’s completed. But give me your reasons for going on. What hooks you in a good series? What drags you in so irrevocably that you can’t not read on?

  1. I have to feel a connection to the characters…emotional, humor, a multifaceted depth.

Then the plot has to make me want to solve a dilemma right along with them!
