Making Up the Holidays

FOR WRITERS

Today’s writer topic comes from QSFer MK Mancos:

In your spec fic, whether sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk, or a combo platter of all of them, do you make up your own holidays to coincide with whatever religious system you’ve constructed, or borrowed from life? Do you use what we’d consider bank holidays, more so than religious?

  1. Making up holidays, religions, and unique customs for my worlds is one of the joys of writing fantasy! I’ll never forget Frazzled Scales’s Day, the Dragon version of April Fool’s Day on which the various dragons try to come up with ways to prank each other in the universe of the Keep. :)
