New Release: Rowan & Aldred – Lucie Fleury

Rowan & Aldred - Lucie Fleury

QSFer Lucie Fleury has a new MM fantasy romance out, Ambrosia T.2: Rowan & Aldred.

Rowan is a bully. Always has been, always will be. After all, what better way to prevent people from hurting you, than hurting them first? But this time, he’s gone too far. The God of Justice has heard about his crimes, and now he must suffer the consequences…

Aldred, God of Justice and Retribution, is all too willing to take Rowan into his dungeon to deliver the sentence he rightly deserves. After all, punishing humans is his favorite pastime—he’ll take great pleasure in the careless, sadistic fun that Rowan’s incarceration offers him.

What he doesn’t expect is finding more. Because there’s something underneath Rowan’s spitefulness. Something he wants to find, care for and protect. However, if he acts on his urges, his ward will become permanently addicted to the ambrosia his body produces, altering Rowan’s life forever.

Set in a medieval fantasy world full of magic, conniving divinities and a newborn god gone rogue, follow the redemption story of one broken boy who gets his second chance at life, and a god who discovers his softer side.

Can be read as a standalone.

Content warning: explicit sex scenes, torture (flogging, drowning, humiliation), mention of past-abuse, sexual assault.

The first thing he heard when he woke up was the screaming. It was a long, painful cry that ended up in a sad wail.

Then Rowan opened his eyes and remembered. And then it was him who wanted to scream.

He was in a dark cell, locked between three wet stone walls and a row of thick iron bars, with the regular sound of a water drop dropping in the background, and the periodic interlude of the screeching and squawking of mice. It was all very cliché. But effective. He was scared shitless.

He remembered being on the run with his friends, paranoid of every shadow. He remembered spending the night at an inn, forcing himself and the others to believe they had shaken off their pursuers. But he had trouble remembering how, exactly, he got caught and brought here. He only had the faint memory of a darkness even darker than the dark. Which made no fucking sense. He had never been good with words, anyway.

He got up and walked the two steps to the bars. He wasn’t chained, which was at least something less to worry about if he was to try to escape. A bitter laugh slipped from his mouth—escape? Did he take himself for the hero of a silly adventure book? Guys like Rowan didn’t escape, he knew it. Guys like him ended up quartered or boiled before being fed to the pigs.

Author Bio

After reading so many books and falling in love with m/m romance, Lucie Fleury decided to try writing her own stories. She likes tortured characters and unfair fate, almost as much as the strong savior type. She’s French, and it may or may not explain a lot about her.
