TV: Exorcist Producer Has Choice Words for Homophobes

Exorcist

TV producer Jeremy Slater has absolutely no time for homophobic fans. Slater is an executive producer on the Fox series The Exorcist, a sequel to the 1973 film.

In a recent episode, excommunicated priest Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) travels to an island to investigate the paranormal. There, he shares a kiss with a friendly local (Christopher Cousins).

Slate did an interview with Sci-Fi Bulletin where he talked about the moment in question.

He first acknowledged that there wasn’t much backlash. However, when he addressed the people who took issue with the kiss, he held nothing back.

‘I saw a couple of homophobes on Twitter and my response is, “Good, fuck you. I’m glad you didn’t like it, I’m glad it ruined the show for you. You shouldn’t have good things in your life,”‘ he said. ‘If a homophobe can’t watch the show any more because one of the characters is gay, then I’m glad something good has come out of it.’
