TV: Trans Actor Pete MacHale Joins Doctor Who Cast

Doctor Who has reportedly cast its first-ever trans man, Pete MacHale, for its upcoming season. MacHale is one of five new cast members announced in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine, TV Zone reported, along with Bhav Joshi, Eilidh Loan, Pete MacHale, Miles Yekinni and Hemi Yeroham. Their roles are all currently unknown. The new Doctor Who cast members will join Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson in season 14, expected to air in early 2024. Comic Books: New Series Seems to Confirm that Buffy Chartacter is Canonically Queer

A series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics have possibly confirmed a significant character’s sexuality. Sarah Gailey and Hannah Templer’s The Vampire Slayer – a tie-in for the renowned tv series – confirmed that vampire slayer Faith Lehane is queer in its 11th issue. The character first debuted in season three of the show, becoming one of its most significant characters. While her sexuality was subtly hinted at in the television series – which caused some criticism by those accusing the show of queerbaiting – it was fully confirmed during the tie-in comic series.
