Entertainment: Tom Payne Says His “Walking Dead” Character is Gay

Tom Payne

Tom Payne, who plays Paul “Jesus” Rovia on The Walking Dead, sat down with the Huffington Post to talk about the show and his character’s sexual orientation, confirming that his character, true to creator Robert Kirkman’s wishes, is gay. Said Kirkman in a Reddit Q&A in 2014: “In my opinion there should be more awesome gay people in fiction because there are plenty of awesome gay people in real life. I want Jesus to be a character where his sexuality is as unimportant as Rick or other heterosexual characters. So we won’t focus on it constantly and it won’t be the focus of any … Read more

Trailer: Guardians of the Galaxy 2

It’s been more than two years since Guardians of the Galaxy got moviegoers hooked on Marvel’s gang of wily space-explorers—and if the first full trailer for 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is any indication, you can expect even Gamora action, adventure, and interstellar wise-assery the second time around. The trailer, which you can watch above, features all of your laser-brained heroes—including Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and Dave Bautista as Drax—as well as some toothy monsters, a dogged dogfight, and, of course, Baby Groot, who adorably almost blows everyone up. By Joe – Full Story … Read more

U=(N/T)M*G: Water Bear

Don’t let the picture of that weirdly adorable little microbe that accompanies this article fool you. That badass is the Tardigrade. And it’s tough as nails. Sent to space unprotected and survived, it’s so hardcore. So superheroic that it survived all five mass extinctions. I bow down in awe to this, the toughest sumbitch on this planet. Like some weird love child of Colossus and Wolverine, this extremophile beastie earns its awesome status because it can dry out into a hard husk, called a tun, and it has wild regenerative properties. Some species are bisexual and some are asexual too. … Read more

The British Harry Potter fan set up the ultimate Harry Potter Christmas tree using trinkets collected from frequent visits to the Harry Potter studio tour in London, she told HuffPost. Announcement: Always & Forever, by Jenn Burke & Kelly Jensen

Always and Forever

QSFers Jenn Burke and Kelly Jensen have a new sci fi book out: In Chaos Station (Chaos Station #1), Zander Anatolius and Felix Ingesson are reunited after nine years apart. Zander believes Felix was captured and executed by the enemy in the years long Human-Stin War. Felix believes Zander was swallowed by a black ops program, probably never to surface again. Their reunion, therefore, is a rather profound event and the basis for the five-book Chaos Station series. That’s not where their story begins, however. Collected here are the extra stories written alongside the Chaos Station series. “Graduation” and “Reunion” are set … Read more
