New Queer Science Fiction Musical – The Unseen World

The Unseen World

Last week, Ira Marlow pitched me on something intriguing: I’d love to submit “The Unseen World” for review. It has a sweet queer love story central to its plot and thus far people are knocked out by the variety and quality of the songs. It’s been described as “The Matrix meets The Wizard of Oz” with references to Philip K. Dick, Mel Brooks and Sylvia Plath. He had me at “Philip K. (The genius psychedelic set and costumes are by David Zinn.) But the wildly entertaining new musical also offers sage lessons in how to save civilization in the face of doom. So. Listen up, it seems … Read more

There’s going to be a superhero musical cross-over starring the Flash and Supergirl. The announcement was made by the CW’s Greg Berlanti – who executive produces a number of superhero TV shows, including Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and most recently Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour, he revealed that a two-episode crossover was in the works, featuring stars from across The Flash and Supergirl. Berlanti hinted: “There will be a musical crossover. There’s going to be a musical pair of episodes in the back half of the year between Supergirl … Read more
