TV: Teen Wolf’s Jackson Comes Back, and Comes Out

Colton Haynes, Charlie Carver

During Jackson’s two seasons on MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” it was clear that he had a lot of issues. The jock was often angry and violent, and now we know at least part of why he was so unhappy. It seems Jackson was in the closet. The character, played by actor Colton Haynes, has been doing well in London. A new sneak-peek video from “Teen Wolf” Season 6 shows that Jackson is apparently living with his boyfriend, Ethan (Charlie Carver). The American werewolves connected while across the pond and have been dating long enough to celebrate an anniversary. “We’re an odd … Read more

QSFer Damian Serbu has a new MM paranormal book out, and he’s sharing a guest post with us: Geographic Locations I set most of my stories in places where I have lived or visited.  Not just because it helps for me to set the scenery by seeing it again in my head, or even going to pictures of places, so that I can accurately describe it.  But also as a celebration of my travels and the locations I called home.  Sometimes I may venture to a place in my writing that I don’t know about – but really I set … Read more

Find Your Ooga Boo With Cher

Ooga Boo

A delightfully weird release came down the pike from Cher this week, a new track called “Ooga Boo” from the animated children’s television show Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh, streaming now on Netflix. The music video finds Cher styled as an aqua-colored extraterrestrial adorned in various lavish outfits, all the while traveling through space with the title characters, at one point landing on a throne for one Chercophonie. Marking Cher’s first song in several years — her last release was the 2014 single “I Walk Alone,” off her 2013 album Closer to the Truth — the electro-inspired track personifies … Read more

Seeing the Future

Cosmic Science Fiction

I’ve been having a lot of fun collecting digital scans of old pulp magazine covers. It’s great killing time on the Facebook group, Space Opera Pulp, where several thousand other fans of pulp magazines hang out. I save images to a folder called “SF Covers” and use a program, John’s Background Switcher to randomly display them on my computer’s desktop background. (It’s a free program for Windows and Mac computers.) Then, when I want to take a break I’ll watch a slideshow of science fiction art. Sometimes I listen to a podcast or audio books while watching. I tell JBS … Read more
