Star Wars Non-Binary Jedi Terec and Ceret

Future Star Wars games will allow players to create trans characters, it’s been reported, bringing much needed representation to a galaxy far, far away. Sources close to We Got This Covered claim that character creators in future Star Wars games will be more inclusive and allow for trans representation. At present, this remains a rumour and it’s not clear which games this refers to. Of course, trans representation should be standard across the board. Plenty of indie games, like Boyfriend Dungeon and the forthcoming A Long Journey to an Uncertain End, include diverse pronoun options and don’t gender lock visual … Read more

THEATER: Russell Tovey Stars in London Queer Alternate Realities Play “Constellations”

Russell Tovey & Omari Douglas in Constellations

Russell Tovey and Omari Douglas shine bright in the inventive, queer Constellations. For every path we choose in life, there is another untrodden by us that exists as a a parallel reality. In one existence, you scoff as a friend of a friend drops a horrendously cheesy chat up line. In an alternate life, it leads you to a torrid affair. In another, marriage. And so on, and so on. That’s the basic premise of Constellations. On paper it sounds fairly high concept, but in practice it’s a clever little rom-com full of laughter, soul-searching and heart – more Sliding … Read more

When A marvel Film Almost Went Gay…

disco ball - pixabay

Long before the stubbornly-heterosexual Marvel Cinematic Universe, cinema-goers were almost treated to a camp superhero epic that would have pitted Cher and KISS against Donna Summer and her Village People army. In 1979, Casablanca Records and some Hollywood execs wanted Marvel to piece together a script for a movie about Dazzler, an all-singing mutant superhero who can convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, making her a literal blast at parties. Dazzer had made her comic book debut earlier that year, conceived in response to the rise of disco and in the hopes that Marvel would be able to … Read more
